How would you feel to find out that the federal government was using your tax dollars to fund efforts to specifically counter any and all counseling efforts by Christians and others to help gays go straight?
Well, it’s true and you’re not the only one upset and concerned about it.
The United States Justice Foundation’s team of legal experts claim that the federal government uses various websites and organizations that fall short of being scientifically credible with the information they promote concerning LGBT topics. In particular they point to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Health Youth Service website run the CDC. This government website links to a number of homosexual activist sites, organizations and resources including ones that warn against the use of any kind of therapy to help people struggling with same-sex attraction that might lead them to going straight. To date, the government has spent over $100,000 on a program that teaches children to take an active role in gay rights.
One of the questionable sites is the GSANetwork which is:
“Empowering youth activists to fight homophobia and transphobia in schools” as well as “campaigns to …. empower youth activists to create changes that will transform schools.”
The USJF team has sent a letter to Dr. Kevin Fenton, Director of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention concerning the validity and scientific integrity the questionable programs. The National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention is a department within the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which is part of the Department of Health and Human Services, run by none other than Kathleen Sebelius, Obama’s champion of anti-family and anti-Christian healthcare.
The letter was sent on behalf Parents and Friends of ExGays and Gays (PFOX), and a copy was also sent to the Obama administration asking that they intervene. PFOX Executive Director, Regina Griggs explained:
“How do these links ‘meet scientific standards supported by published, evidence-based studies,’ as the CDC claims?”
Part of the letter stated:
“The website also contains links to anti-heterosexual publications and organizations, such as PFLAG, which openly denigrates former homosexuals, and the infamous anti-ex-gay publication ‘Just the Facts,’ which advocates against Christian ex-gay ministries and lists only those religious organizations that affirm homosexual behavior.
“Why is the federal government spreading intolerance against the ex-gay community and Christians who support the religious testimony of former homosexuals? The promotion of these negative anti-heterosexual comments spreads hate towards the ex-gay community. Is the federal government singling out a certain class of people to denigrate?”
“The CDC’s current list of links results in ex-gay bashing, does not provide complete factual information to youth and their parents, and sends the wrong message that unpopular sexual minorities like former homosexuals are not entitled to protection or respect.”
The federal government is using your tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood which undermines parental authority and the need to save one’s self for marriage. It is also using our tax dollars to teach public school children that homosexuality is normal and that they should take part in gay rights. It also teaches them that anyone who stands up for biblical and family values is a wicked hate filled person who is not to be believed or tolerated.
